Struthers - Florence (Sandy) Colburn, 95, died peacefully on October 12, 2018 at Masternick Memorial Health Care Center.
Mrs. Colburn was born December 6, 1922 in Lowellville, a daughter of Ralph and Margaret Caizzo Sandy.
She was a graduate of East High School. Florence was raised in Youngstown and spent sometime in Washington D.C.
She was a secretary and stenographer at U.S. Maritime Commission and also worked at Heck's Department Store in D.C.
Florence was a member of Christ Our Savior Parish @ St. Nicholas Church, where she was in the Altar Rosary Society and Holy Name Society.
She also was a member of the garden club and enjoyed cooking and baking for her family.
Her husband Roger Colburn, whom she married Aug. 25, 1945, died Apr. 17, 1986.
She is survived by her children, Gary (Paulette) Colburn of Austintown, Mardin (Terri Pepe) Colburn of Lowellville, John (Roberta) Colburn of Seattle, WA, Carole (Jay) Colburn of Dansville, MI, and Maria (Thomas) McIntee of Struthers; grandchildren, Rocky (Jeanie) Colburn, Michael (Stacy) Colburn, Jennifer(Dave) King, Margaret Colburn, Soren (Lauren) Sorensen, Karah Sorensen, Kristian (Jacob) Bullen, Tom, Katie, and Tim McIntee; great-grandchildren, Hannah Cramer, Chase Colburn, Ashlynn Rose Bullen.
Besides her parents and husband, Florence was preceded in death by one sister, Mary Sandy; four brothers, John, Anthony, William, and Joseph Sandy.
A prayer service will be held Wednesday at 10:30AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St., Struthers, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial @ Christ Our Savior Parish @ St. Nicholas Church at 11:00 AM with Fr. Martin Celuch officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.
Friends and family will be received Tuesday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
