CANFIELD - Florence Rochow Rider, 87, formerly of Poland, died Wednesday evening at the Hospice of the Valley Hospice House.
Florence was born Oct. 14, 1922, in Youngstown, a daughter of William and Florence Miller.
She was raised in Youngstown and lived in Poland, until moving to Canfield 33 years ago.
She was a graduate of Chaney High School and worked in the book department of Strouss Department Store, downtown Youngstown.
Florence was a charter member of the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Poland, where she was active in the Ladies Sewing Circle, Pop-Overs and Just Friends.
Her first husband, Harold Rochow, died June of 1967.
Besides her husband, William "Bob" Rider, whom she married March 1975, Florence leaves her daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Edward Brant of Poland; her son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Karen Rochow of Boardman; stepdaughters and sons-in-law, Sherri and George Remias and Janet and Dana Slick; one brother, James Miller of Youngstown; four grandchildren, Tammi Hartshorn, George Remias and Eric and Chad Slick; and six great-grandchildren, Lindsey and Nicholas Hartshorn, Eleanor Remias, and Ethan, Brandon and Cameron Slick.
Besides her parents and husband, Florence was preceded in death by her brother, Bob Miller.
Funeral services will be Saturday, at 11 a.m. at the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Poland with Pastor Paul Burgeson officiating.
Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery.
Friends may call Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland Chapel and from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Saturday at the church.
The family requests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the Prince of Peace Lutheran Church Memorial Fund.
