Florence Moody âa�" 93 YOUNGSTOWN âa�" Florence Moody, 93, of 77 E. Florida Ave, died Saturday morning at Hospice House. Mrs. Moody was born in Youngstown on April 5, 1914, a daughter of William and Lottie Brightman Briggs. She was a member of a large extended family, and kept her love and loyalty to family throughout her long life. She was a 1933 graduate of East High School, where she was an honor student and Secretery of her graduating class. She was a talented pianist and served as accompanist for the school orchestra. All her life she kept a deep love for East High and her old East side neighborhood. Later in life, she became well loved as a baby sitter, and enjoyed playing games, singing songs, and telling stories to the children she cared for. Her music was her great gift to those she loved. Her husband, Jackson B. Moody whom she married January 10, 1942, died June 5, 1995. Mrs. Moody leaves one daughter, Jennifer (William) Centric of Youngstown, one son, Jonathan (Karen) Moody of Akron, one brother, William Briggs, and two granddaughters, Edana (Ryan) Trudeau of Colorado Springs, CO, and Laura (Kevin) Little of Campbell. She also leaves two great-granddaughters, Brianna Zmuida and Allison Trudeau of Colorado Springs. Besides her parents and husband, she is preceded in death by one sister, Myrtle Lewis Burdick, and three brothers: Albert Briggs, and twins Carl and Clyde Briggs. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service Sunday, October 21, at 2:00 pm at the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 1105 Elm St., Youngstown OH 44505. In lieu of flowers, the family requests Memorial contributions to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman OH 44512, or to the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 1105 Elm St., Youngstown, OH 44505.
