Florence Virginia Austin

Poland - Florence Virginia Austin, 96, of Poland, died early Thursday morning at Omni Manor Health Care Center. Miss Austin was born May 25, 1912 in Poland, a daughter of Charles and Emma Kariher Austin. She was a life-long resident of Poland. Florence was a 1930 graduate of Poland Seminary High School and was a dispatcher for General Electric for 43 years, retiring in 1977. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Youngstown, where she was a member of the Rebecca group of Women's Society now known as Naomi Women's Group. She was also a former member of the Poland AARP. Florence leaves two nieces, Emma M. Pershing of Youngstown and Sara J. Nowell of Bedford, Pa., and many grand nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, Florence was preceded in death by one brother,Charles Austin; and one sister, Marguerite Brothers. Funeral services will be held Monday at 10:00 a.m. at the Carpenter Chapel, Poland Riverside Cemetery with Rev. Stephen T. Sparling officiating.
