Struthers - Faye L. Bennett, 71, of Struthers, died February 18, 2011 at the Hospice House.

Mrs. Bennett was born November 30, 1939 in Van Buren, AK, a daughter of Robert and Rebah Parker Parke. She moved to the Youngstown area at the age of six.

She was a graduate of Girard High School and received her bachelor of science degree and a bachelor's degree in law enforcement from Youngstown State University. Mrs. Bennett worked as a social worker at Daybreak, a shelter for teenagers, and as a medical massager, retiring in 1985.

She was a member of Christ Lutheran Church in Struthers, the East Side Civics, the Mercer County Disabilities Coalition, and she sang in the chorus at Youngstown State University in the Greek Opera.

Her husband, Terry L. Bennett, Sr. whom she married in 1992, died September 3, 2008. She leaves her son, Stephen (Candida) Kirkham of Ellwood City, PA; three sisters, Mary Ann (Robert) Lewis of Struthers, Edith Rowe of Struthers, and Sandy (Ralph) Kiker of Aniston, AL; and two grandchildren, Bryce and Baylee Kirkham.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Perry Parke.

There will be no calling hours or services. Arrangements are being handled by the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers.
