F. Stanley Wittenauer, 92

BOARDMAN ­ Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Bethel Lutheran Church for F. Stanley Wittenauer, 92. He passed away Wednesday evening at ValleyCare Northside Medical Center.
Mr. Wittenauer was born Jan. 9, 1921, in Youngstown, a son of Franks S. and Martha Morrison Wittenauer.
He was owner and past president of Youngstown Rubber Products. He began his career at Lee Rubber and Tire Company and served as sales and marketing manager of Republic Rubber, later Aeroquip Corporation. He opened Aeroquip¹s Wytheville, Va. manufacturing plant, where he was plant manager.
He is a decorated veteran of World War II, serving in the U.S. Army Signal Corp and was awarded two bronze stars for his actions in combat in the China-Burma-India Theater.
He was a member of the church and a former member of the Martin Luther Lutheran Church, where he served as treasurer. Stan was past president of Youngstown Country Club and former YCC golf champion, a member of Western Star Lodge No. 21 F.&A.M., the Scottish Rite and past president of Goodwill Industries.
He was a 1939 graduate of The Rayen School and a 1950 graduate of Youngstown College, where he earned his bachelors degree in business administration.
Surviving him are his wife, the former Irene Cleaton, whom he married Dec.
23, 1943; a daughter, Kelly (Timothy) Zuber of Roanoke, Va.; and a beloved grandson, Alexander.
Stan was proud of Alex¹s desire and calling to attend Lutheran Seminary next year.
Preceding him in death besides his parents are three brothers, Lawrence, Paul and Alfred Wittenauer; and two sisters, Helen Wittenauer and Jean Delquadri.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday at Davis-Becker Funeral Home,
8536 Market St. (new location) and Monday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
