Youngstown - Evelyne June Dear, 84, of Youngstown, formerly of Pulaski, PA, died Saturday, April 5, 2008 in Omni Manor Health Care Center. Mrs. Dear was born November 13, 1923 in Warsaw, Indiana, a daughter of George and Lillian Grubbs Oswalt. She was a 1942 graduate of Warsaw High School. She also attended the Columbia University and the Sharon Academy of Beauty. She was a member of the "Forget-me-not" Garden Club of West Middlesex, the Women's Club of West Middlesex, the Order of the Eastern Star, and a former member of the West Middlesex Presbyterian Church. Mrs. Dear was a WWII Coast Guard Veteran, where she served as a Pharmacist's Mate. Her husband William E. Dear, Jr., whom she married April 25, 1946, died June 25, 1985. She leaves two daughters, Sally (Ray) Freddo of Glenshaw, PA and Laura (Dan) DiPiero of Boardman; five grandchildren, Bart Freddo, Max Freddo, Nina DiPiero, Calon DiPiero, and Devin DiPiero; one great-grandchild, Zoe Rae Freddo; and one nephew, William J. Dear. Besides her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two infant sons, Richard Allen Dear and Morgan David Dear; and two brothers, Max Donovan Oswalt and George Washington Oswalt. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date. Funeral arrangements are being handled by the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers.
