Struthers - Evelyn D. Zaluski, 79, of Struthers, passed away peacefully Monday afternoon. Evelyn was born April 2, 1929 in Rankin, Pennsylvania, a daughter of Michael and Margaret Berkavich Barrick. She was a graduate of Rankin High School and at one time had worked for Anco and Plakie Toys. Evelyn was a member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church, and for over 50 years, a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union #66. Evelyn enjoyed spending time with her family and was known for her beautiful ceramics. Besides her husband, William Zaluski, whom she married September 25, 1948, Evelyn leaves one son, Robert (Karen) Zaluski of Mentor; two daughters, Janet (Al) Lander of Lucinda, Pa. and Patricia (Lance) Ortenzio of Austintown; one brother, Thomas (Dorothy) Barrick of Oroville, Calif.; nine grandchildren, Elizabeth (Mark) Bumpus, William, John and Michael Zaluski, Katherine (Aaron) Guhin, Margaret and Sarah Lander, Christine and Rebecca Ortenzio; and three great-grandchildren, Alexander, Kathryn, and Sara Bumpus. Besides her parents, Evelyn was preceded in death by her infant son, James; two sisters, Gertrude Balkovec Copeland and Emma Antolovich; and one brother, Eugene Barrick. Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 8th at 10:45 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home and 11:30 a.m. at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church with Fr. Bob Bonnot officiating. Interment will follow at St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Lowellville. Friends will be received today from 5-8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
