Struthers - Evelyn M. Tabak, 94, died on Sunday, September 25, 2016 in St. Elizabeth Health Center in Youngstown. She was born January 31, 1922 in Youngstown, daughter of the late, George and Lottie Belle Hoover Frank.
Evelyn was employed as a secretary for General Fireproofing for over 15 years. She was a very active member of Christ Lutheran Church where she was a Sunday School teacher. Evelyn loved baseball and played on the General Fireproofing recreational league. She was an avid sports fan, loved the Cleveland Indians and tried to never miss a game. She lived her entire life in Struthers and was very proud to be a resident. Evelyn was a people person and loved spending time with family and friends.
She leaves her son, James (Joann) Tabak of Struthers; two grandchildren, April (Rich) Platt and Jim (Monique) Tabak; two great-grandchildren, Christian and Natalee Platt; two brothers, Gilbert and John Frank and her sister, Helen Louise "Weezie" Stewart.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John Tabak in 1993; her son, Jerry Tabak, her brother, William "Bud" Frank and her sister, Dorothy Tross.
Funeral services will be Thursday at 11am at Christ Lutheran Church, 250 Sexton St. in Stuthers, with Pastor Paul Burgeson officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
Calling hours will be Wednesday (TONIGHT) from 5-7pm at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, 11 Spring St. and prior to the service on Thursday from 10-10:45am at the church.
The family asks that any donations be made, in her name, to Christ Lutheran Church.
