Hubbard - Evelyn L. Menichini, 91, formerly of Lowellville and New Middletown, died Sunday, December 13, 2015 at O'Brien Healthcare Center in Masury.
Evelyn was born March 27, 1924 in Youngstown, a daughter of Edward and Frances Nelson Sell.
Raised in Youngstown, Evelyn graduated from South High School in 1941. After high school, she served in the United States Army Air Force, WAC Division, for two years during World War II and worked a portion of her service at the Pentagon. Evelyn continued to help with the war efforts after she was honorably discharged from the service by working as a "Rosie the Riveter." She worked for General Fireproofing Company in Youngstown, where they manufactured aircraft parts during the war.
Evelyn later worked as a waitress at Lee Run Golf Course and Geno's Restaurant in Lowellville.
Her interests included playing cards and going on bus trips with friends.
Her husband, Joseph Menichini, whom she married September 17, 1962, preceded her in death on October 4, 2003. Evelyn is survived by her two daughters, Deborah Canatelli and Susan Cantaelli, both of Phoenix, AZ; son, Joseph Canatelli of Poland; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her two sisters, Lavina Sell and her twin, Ethelyn Taylor.
There will be no calling hours. A service will be held Friday at 1:30 p.m. at Lake Park Cemetery Chapel.
