Struthers - Evelyn M. McCreary, 80, of Struthers, died Friday evening, May 8, 2015 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.
Evelyn was born June 11, 1934 in Newton Falls, a daughter of Edgar and Grace Ward Hoffman. She was raised in Newton Falls and came to Struthers in 1957 from New York City where she lived for three years.
Evelyn worked in the new accounts department of National City Bank for 15 years, retiring in 1996.
A member of the former Wisteria Rebekah Lodge #817 and a life member of Parkview Lodge #719 in Canfield. Evelyn was also a member of the
Royal Auxiliary # 61, of L.A.P.M. and Ladies EnCampment Auxiliary Trumbull #147 of Warren and was honored to be a recipient of the Decoration of Chivalry.
Evelyn held state offices for the Ohio Rebekah Assembly including Inside Guardian and Conductor.
Evelyn was an active member of the Struthers Band Boosters for many years. She was a former member of Bethel Lutheran Church and a member of Faith Community Church.
Evelyn leaves her husband, Everett A. McCreary, whom she married July 26, 1958; one daughter, Jodi A. Jorgensen of Struthers; one son, James A. (Nancy) McCreary of Boardman; and three grandchildren, Courtney and Kaitlyn McCreary, and Brandi Jorgensen.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at 3:00 PM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers with Rev. Brian Ethridge officiating. Private interment will follow Monday at the Lake Park Cemetery in Youngstown.
Friends will be received Sunday from 12:30 PM to 2:30 PM at the funeral home where the Parkview Lodge will hold a Memorial Service at 2:30 PM.
