Evelyn M. (Deletis) Kurtz

Poland - Evelyn M. Kurtz, 88, passed away suddenly Monday Morning, August 26, 2019 at her residence.

Evelyn was born November 13, 1930 in Lowellville, OH, a daughter of Nicholas and Mary Pantana Deletis.

Raised in Lowellville, Evelyn graduated from Lowellville High School, Class of 1948. After high school, Evelyn worked as a secretary for Royal Typewriter in downtown Youngstown, and later as a secretary for her husband's company, Kurtz Tool and Die. After her husband's passing Evelyn continued to work with her son until her late 70's.

Evelyn loved baking and cooking for family and friends, especially her famous brownies. She dedicated her life to her family and cherished her time with her grandchildren. Evelyn was a long time member of Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers.

Her husband, Robert Kurtz whom she married in June 15, 1951 passed away September 8, 2000; Evelyn leaves one daughter, Judy (Jim) Sabula of Poland; one son, Robert Kurtz, Jr. of Liberty; one sister, Eleanor (Joe) Williams of Lowellville; one brother-in-law, Dick Williams also of Lowellville; four grandchildren, Jaime (Brett) Sabula of Glen Ellyn, IL, Jennifer (Marc) Santuccio of Gloucester, MA, Kacey (John) Houser of Rootstown, OH and Robby Kurtz of Columbus, OH; three great-grandchildren, Elliot and Elyse Herand, and James Santuccio; and her dear friend, Rose Mastrangelo.

In addition to her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by her sister, Ange Williams.

A prayer service will be held Friday, 9:15 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Christ Our Savior Parish at St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. with Fr. Martin Celuch officiating. Interment will follow at the Riverside Cemetery, Poland, OH.

Friends will be received Thursday from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
