Evelyn E. Gotthardt

Poland - Evelyn E. Gotthardt, 80, passed away on Saturday evening, September 12, 2015 at Brookdale Nursing Home.

Evelyn was born on September 30, 1934 in Houston, Texas, a daughter of the late Louis and Norma Altman, and was a 1952 graduate of Anahuac High School in Anahuac, Texas.

Evelyn was the Clerk-Treasurer for the Village of Poland for several years and was employed by the Poland Local School District as a cook for over 20 years.

Evelyn was a member of the Poland United Methodist Church for over 40 years, participating in various church activities. She enjoyed reading, gardening, doing crossword puzzles, but most importantly, spending time with her friends and family.

Her husband, Raymond C. Gotthardt, who she married on August 5, 1955, passed away on October 29, 1995, after 40 years of marriage.

She leaves to cherish her memory, three children, Raymond F. Gotthardt of Columbiana, Gerald Gotthardt of Struthers, and Sharon (William) Ketterer of Girard; two granddaughters, Renee and Kelly; and six great-grandsons.

Besides her parents and husband, Evelyn was preceded in death by a sister, Lillian Stockwell.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St., Poland, with Pastor Michael Grant officiating. Interment will follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery.

Family and friends will be received on Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. and Wednesday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.

Evelyn's family wishes to thank her Pastors Michael Grant and Susan Holley, the Brookdale Nursing Home, and those close friends who were there for her with their show of support, love, and care during this difficult time.
