Evelyn Elizabeth Domhoff

Poland - Evelyn Elizabeth Domhoff, 91, entered the Lord's presence on Wednesday afternoon, July 9, 2014.

Mrs. Domhoff was born April 6, 1923 in Youngstown, a daughter of Arthur and Anna Holmgren Johnston.

She graduated from South High School in 1941 and attended Youngstown College and Practical Bible Training School. Evelyn graduated from the Choffin School of Practical Nursing and worked for St. Elizabeth Hospital as an LPN for 10 years.

She was a member of the Poland Village Baptist Church, where she was a pianist and played the cello in the church orchestra. She taught Sunday School classes for many years and also home Bible class for neighbors and friends for 10 years. Mrs. Domhoff also volunteered at Greenbriar Nursing Home, playing piano for the weekly church service.

Evelyn married Charles E. Domhoff on June 3,1943 and they celebrated 67 years together. He passed away on October 22, 2010.

Mrs. Domhoff is survived by her two daughters, Marilyn Domhoff of Peoria, AZ and Charlene (George) Radman of Dalton, PA; son, Glenn (Christine) Domhoff of Honolulu, HI; sister, Joan (Tom) Filban; grandsons, Eric (Laura) Radman of Endicott, NY and Kevin (Becky) Radman of San Antonio, TX; six great-grandchildren, Abigail, Cadence, and Eden Radman, and Judah, Sienna, and Noel Radman; and many nieces and nephews.

Besides her parents and husband, Mrs. Domhoff was preceded in death by her sister, Ruth Johnston and her daughter, Margretta Domhoff Young.

A funeral service will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Poland Village Baptist Church with Pastor Brian Ethridge officiating. Interment will be at Jackson Cemetery in Coitsville.

Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Home in Poland and Wednesday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the church.
