Austintown - Eugene Marlin Bayowski, 81 of Austintown, passed away March 3rd, 2024 at St. Elizabeth Hospital. He is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Louise (Pallante) Bayowski.
Gene was born September 14, 1942 in Warren, Ohio to the late E. Eugene and Sadie (Petrosky) Bayowski.
Known by many as "Bene," he was a graduate of North High School and obtained his associate degree at Youngstown University. A proud patriot of his country, Gene served honorably in the United States Army Reserves with a Tour of Duty in Vietnam. He worked at Republic Steel and for 14 years at Westinghouse in Pennsylvania. He later worked for over 30 years as a bus driver for Leonard Kirtz School (MCBDD) until his retirement. His father passed down his favorite hobby to Gene, his love of car collecting. He was a member of the Mahoning Valley Olde Car Club and the National Packard Museum. Above all, Gene cherished his family more than anything. He will be missed by everyone who knew and loved him.
In addition to his wife, he leaves behind to treasure his memory his two sons, Brian (Diane) Bayowski and Wayne Bayowski; stepson, Fred (Danielle) Noday of Powell, Ohio; brother, Dave L. (Terry) Bayowski of Mineral Ridge, Ohio; step-grandchildren , Franchesca, Miranda, Freddy, BreAnna and Marissa; as well as many cousins.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, March 9, 2024 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. with a memorial service and military honors to follow at 2:00 p.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman, Ohio.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Gene's name to Mahoning Valley Olde Car "Children's Fund", PO Box 244 N. Jackson, Ohio 44451.
