MONROE, GA. ­ Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home in Boardman, for Etta Mae Scott 96, formerly of Boardman, who passed away Thursday evening at Embracing Hospice in Snellville, Ga.
Calling hours will be held from 10 to 11:45 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Scott was born March 2, 1915, in McKeesport, Pa., a daughter of Earl and Floy Roney Septer.
She married H. Allen Scott on Feb. 25, 1937, at the First Congregational Church of McKeesport. They celebrated their 50th anniversary in 1987.
Mr. Scott passed on Nov. 3, 1991 and a son, Ronald A. Scott passed away on June 18, 2009. Also a brother, Earl Septer preceded her in death.
Mrs. Scott was a long time member of the Pleasant Grove Presbyterian Church.
She was the secretary at West Blvd. Elementary school in Boardman for 28 years, retiring in 1981. She also was a charter member of the Mothers of Twins Club and after retirement she volunteered for many years in the waiting room at the Western Reserve Care Center in Boardman.
Surviving her is a sister, Doris Oliver of Harrisburg, Pa.; a son, Donald J.
(Carrie) Scott of Monroe; daughter-in-law Jane L. Scott of Boardman; granddaughters, Jaimie (Eric) Lust of Snellville, Melinda (Greg) Lyons of Buford, Ga. and Kimberly (Darren) Cumbie of Charleston, S.C.; and great-granddaughters, Katelyn Cumbie and Jennifer Lyons. Also several nieces and nephews.
The family requests that material tributes take the form of contributions to the Ronald Scott Memorial Fund, in care of the Boardman Booster Club, 7777 Glenwood Ave., Boardman, OH 44512.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the compassionate caregivers of Greenbriar Assisted Living in Boardman and Great Oaks Assisted Living and Park Place Nursing Facility, both in Monroe.
