Youngstown - Ethel Mae Powis, 90, of Youngstown, died July 7, 2016 at her residence.

Mrs. Powis was born April 17, 1926 in DesMoines, IA, a daughter of John and Myrtle Smither Reeder.

She was a 1944 Rayen High School graduate and attended Kent State University. Ethel worked for the FBI during WWII and the Bursar's Office at YSU. She was a member of Tabernacle Evangelical Presbyterian Church and was a former Sunday School teacher.

Ethel was Past President of Mothers of Twins Club and was a member of YSU Retirees Association.

Her husband, Jack, whom she married Aug. 11, 1946, died April 1, 2002.

She is survived by two daughters, Sandra Sullivan of Youngstown and Joyce (Alan) Murray of Boardman; one son, Jack (Mary Lou) Powis of Tallahassee, FL; nine grandchildren, Deborah (Jesse) Edson, Kathleen Kalosky, Sandra (Brad) Baylor, Alan "JR" (Marilyn) Murray, Ryan (Colleen) Murray, Meagan (Garrett) Frank, Christie Powis, Linsey (Billy) Rundell, and Sarah (Patrick) Weston; 16 great-grandchildren, Holly, Richie, Joey, Kyle, Reese, Jake, Aly, William, Sophia, Joycelyn, Emily, Garrett, Alivia, Chelsie, Zane, and Brandon.

Besides her parents and husband, Ethel was preceded in death by one sister, Olive Griffey; one brother, John Reeder; and one son-in-law, John D. Sullivan.

Services will be held at Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman, Monday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Gary Koerth officiating.

Friends and family will be received Sunday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM and Monday from 10-10:45AM at the funeral home. A bereavement meal will follow at the Becker Family Center.
