Esther Ann Williams

New Bedford - Esther Ann Williams, 85, of New Bedford, Pennsylvania, died June 8, 2013 at UPMC Passavant Hospital. Mrs. Williams was born July 16, 1927 in Youngstown, OH, daughter of Andrew and Anna (Raschak) Luptak.
She was a 1945 graduate of Union High School. Esther drove school bus for Wilmington Area High School and the Villa Maria High School for a total of over 25 years. She and her husband Edmond owned and operated E.R. Williams Garage in New Bedford, Pennsylvania.
Esther attended New Bedford Presbyterian Church. She loved gardening, reading, camping, crafts, and making quilts for the family. She was a member of the New Bedford Garden Club and the New Bedford TOPS.
Her husband, Edmond R. Williams, whom she married March 8, 1947, died March 31, 1987.
She is survived by her children, Daniel (Karen) Williams of Mullica Hill, NJ, Mark (Suzanne) Williams of Cranberry Twp, PA, and Esther Urey of New Bedford; seven grandchildren, Melissa Williams, Jody (Dave) Classen, Michele (Dave) English, Nichole (Ed) Shields, Jennifer (Josh) Heil, Ryan (Nicole) Williams, and Andrew Urey 1st Class Petty Officer USN; eight great-grandchildren; and two brothers, David (Edith) Luptak of New Castle and Samuel (Roberta) Luptak of New Bedford.
Besides her husband and parents, Esther was preceded in death by one son, Edmond R. Williams Jr., and one sister, Ruth Luptak.
Services will be held at Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home Poland, Tuesday at 11:00 AM with Doug Runyan officiating. Interment will follow in the Lake Park Cemetery, Youngstown, Ohio.
Friends and family will be received Monday from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home Poland and Tuesday from 10-10:45AM.
The family requests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions to the New Bedford Presbyterian Church, 151 Woodland Drive, New Bedford, PA 16140.
