Lowellville - Esther Mae Burns, 79 of Lowellville, died Sunday, January 23, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center in Boardman.
Mrs. Burns was born April 17, 1931 in Jeanette, PA., a daughter of William S and Mary Jane Kidd George.
She was a graduate of Saxonburg High School, and worked as a waitress for many years. She was a member of Struthers VFW Ladies Auxiliary post 3538 for the past 20 years, and was a member of the St. Anthony Society. Mrs. Burns enjoyed crocheting, and spending time with her family, and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband Robert "Red" Burns, whom she married December 10, 1976, five sons, Norman (Barbara ) Brown of Butler, William E. (Kim) Brown of Kalamazoo MI, Thomas Brown of Lowellville, Anthony (Laura) Baker of Jacksonville, NC., and Frankie George of UT; three sisters - Betty Jean Wall of Missouri, Eleanor Floringer of Gibsonia, PA, and Mary Ellen Graham of Mars, PA; three brothers - Frank George of Carson City, NV, Paul George of Zelienople, PA, and Kenny George of Baltimore, MD.; 9 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Norman, Thomas, Edward and William George and her sister, Shirley Sassy.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 at the Davidson Becker Funeral Home in Struthers, where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10:30 am.
