ERNEST OBED DENNIS âa�" 76 YOUNGSTOWN âa�" Ernest Obed Dennis, 76 of 2525 Cornwall Ave, died Tuesday evening at the Hospice House. Mr. Dennis was born on April 6, 1931 in Marklesburg PA, a son of Edwin & Edna Conaway Dennis. He moved to the Youngstown area in 1953. Mr. Dennis worked as a Coal Miner and also for LTV Steel as a Pipe Cutter retiring in 1986. He enjoyed working on cars and trucks, was an amateur locksmith, and loved carpentry. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Louise Smith Macovitz Dennis, whom he married in 1978, two daughters, Barbara Rowe of Youngstown, Penny Nelson of Struthers, one son, George Dennis of Youngstown, five step-sons, Ronald, William, Paul, Larry and Francis Macovitz, six sisters, Thelma Ruth Jelinek of Bessemer, Grace Gray of Cleveland, Betty Lafko of Arizona, Viola Parker of Canfield, Lois Porter of Austintown, Deloris Rowe of Youngstown, four brothers, Paul Dennis of Cleveland, Robert Dennis of Salem, roger Dennis of Mercer, Earl âa�A"Sonnyâa�A� Dennis of Illinois, 21 grandchildren, and 24 great-grandchildren. Besides his parents, he is preceded in death by one daughter, Virginia Mae Zecher, three sisters, Marie Joy, Anna Dennis, Marylou Dennis, and his first wife, Mary Lynn Dennis. The family will receive friends Friday from 4-7 at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers, where services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.
