Boardman- Erna M. Fordyce, 80, passed away peacefully in her home, on Tuesday, March 3, 2015. She was born on February 25, 1935 in Portsmouth, OH where she met and married, her husband, James F.. Fordyce.
Erna graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1953 and worked as a dental assistant for Dr. Skerloc until Jim's job took them North.
She is survived by her husband, Jim, whom she married in 1957; her son, Dr. James William (Jenn) and daughter, Christy. She has six grandchildren; a sister, Mary, in California and a sister, Hilda, in Cleveland.
Erna was preceded in death by her parents, Sixtus and Anna Hansmann.
A memorial service will be held on Friday at 3pm at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St. Boardman, with Deacon Mike Kocjancic officiating.
The family asks that memorial contributions be made to Ron Stoops Memorial Scholarship c/o Cardinal Mooney High School, 2545 Erie St. Youngstown, OH 44507.
