Emerick P. DiCioccio, Sr., 77 Youngstown- Emerick P. DiCioccio, Sr., 77, of 230 Jacobs Road died Thursday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Health Care Center. Mr. DiCioccio was born September 16, 1927 in Lowellville, a son of Cosmo and Mary Ziccardo DiCioccio. He was a 1945 graduate of Lowellville High School. Upon graduation he served as a dental technician with the United States Army from 1945 until May 31, 1947. He was decorated with the World War II Victory Medal. He was a painter for over 31 years retiring in 1978. He was a former member of St. Nicholas Roman Catholic Church in Struthers and Painters Local Union #476. He enjoyed fishing, gardening and being outdoors. He was a life member of the Mahoning County Sportsmen Association. His wife the former Mary Jane Griffith whom he married in 1949 died September 1977. He leaves three daughters, Karen (James) Castellano and Debra (Joseph) Georgiadis all of Campbell and Judy (Ralph) Blewitt of Greenville, Pennsylvania; one step-daughter, Larena (Edward) Semeraro; one son, Emerick P. DiCioccio, Jr., at home; three sisters, Carmel Marshall of Lakeland, Florida, Mary Kiraly of Lowellville and Virginia Semko of Cleveland; three grandsons, James Castellano and Michael and Brent Blewitt; three granddaughters, Melanie and Monica Georgiadis and Jaime Liggi; two great-grandsons, Giovanni Liggi and Ryan Castellano and one great granddaughter, Haley Castellano. Besides his parents and wife, one brother, Samuel DiCioccio preceded him in death. Funeral services will be Sunday, 3:00 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Lowellville where friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at the funeral home.
