Elsie M. Cox

Elsie M. Cox, 79 Struthers- Elsie M. Cox, 79, of 641 Creed Street, died Saturday evening at her residence surrounded by her family. Elsie was born August 9, 1925 in New Middletown, a daughter of John and Veronica Christoff. She was a life-long resident of the Youngstown area. She worked at St. Elizabeth Hospital as a Nurses Aid for 28 years, retiring in 1985. Elsie enjoyed cooking, and crocheting, but her greatest enjoyment was babysitting her great-grandchildren. Elsieâa�a��s first husband, Gerald J. Cox, whom she married in 1944, died in 1951. Her second husband, William H. Hankey Sr., whom she married in 1963 died in 1973. She is survived by three sons, Alan J. (Margaret) Cox of Pittsburgh, PA, Robert L. (Brynn) of Deltona, FL, and Richard N. (Toni) Cox of Poland, OH; a sister, Cecilia Patrnchak of Warren, OH, seven step-children, twelve grandchildren, and fourteen great-grandchildren. There are no services. Arrangements are being handled by Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers. The family requests memorial contributions to be made to Hospice of Forum Health, 8747 Squires Lane NE, Warren, OH 44484.
