Judy Scotford
Judy Scotford went home to be with the Lord after passing away unexpectedly on Sunday, Aug. 25, at her residence in Poland. One of her favorite Bible passages was from 2 Corinthians 4: 16-18, "Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day. For momentary, light affliction is producing for us an eternal weight of glory far beyond all comparison, while we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen; for the things which are seen are temporal, but the things which are not seen are eternal."
Judy was born Oct. 31, 1935, in Columbus, the daughter of Leigh E. and Margaret J. (Jerman) Busler. She was a graduate of Upper Arlington High School and The Ohio State University, where she was a member of Pi Beta Phi sorority. Upon graduation, she was secretary to Novice G. Fawcett, President of The Ohio State University. While working at the university she met and then married John P. Scotford on Dec. 5, 1959. John and Judy moved to Poland in 1963, where they raised their two sons. John and Judy spent the last 20 years wintering in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
Judy was a member of the Junior League of Youngstown and was involved with bringing Community Bible Study to the Mahoning Valley. She was a volunteer in the Poland Booster Club and greatly enjoyed selling raffle tickets to support its programs. She made friends easily and lived out the Great Commission. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Judy was a long-time Bible study teacher and presently a member of the New Presbyterian Church, Pompano Beach, Fla. and the Church of the Rock, Poland.
She was a Chaplain for the Knox Theological Seminary Auxiliary of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. She was a resident at John Knox Village Retirement Community in Pompano Beach, where she was active in numerous programs.
