Boardman - Ellen M. Famularo, 84, died Saturday afternoon, September 2, 2017 at Hampton Woods, surrounded by her family.
Ellen was born February 1, 1933 in Youngstown, a daughter of John and Evelyn McCollum Muransky.
Raised in Youngstown, Ellen was a graduate of South High School. Mrs. Famularo worked for many years as a cashier at Sparkle Market on South Avenue. Ellen loved being around people and keeping busy, continuing to work part-time at the Walmart in Boardman for the last 18 years until recently when her health began to decline.
In her free time, Ellen enjoyed trips to the casino, playing bingo, shopping, and spending time with her family. She was a long-time member of St. Dominic Church in Youngstown.
Her husband, Joseph Famularo Sr., preceded her in death on June 18, 1998. She is survived by two sons, Joseph Famularo Jr. of Boardman and Donald (Patty) Famularo of Boardman; brother, John "Jack" Muransky of Boardman; three grandchildren, Holly Famularo of Seattle, WA, Michael Janosko of Boardman and Daniel Janosko of Boardman; sister-in-law, Joanne Muransky of Boardman; brother-in-law, Walter (Trish) DeBald of Canfield; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Ellen was preceded in death by her sister, Mary DeBald; and niece, Jean Muransky.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday at 2 p.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman, where family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 1-1:45 p.m., prior to the service. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at the Becker Family Center in Boardman. Interment will be at Lake Park Cemetery.
