Struthers - Elizabeth Ann "Betty" Tondy, 86, died late Thursday evening, June 27, 2013 at St. Elizabeth Health Center.
Betty was born March 27, 1927 in Youngstown, a daughter of Jacob and Mary Ann Kerchofer.
She attended East High School and was a homemaker. Betty loved spending time with her family and watching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow. In her spare time, she enjoyed crocheting and cross-stitching.
Her husband, Alfred, whom she married September 14, 1946, died June 16, 1988. She is survived by her daughter, Jan (Chuck) Yurkovich of Boardman; six sisters, Mary Tondy of New Middletown, Frances Bielecki of Youngstown, Theresa Gallo of New Middletown, Helen Kerchofer of New Middletown, Ann Pallay of Youngstown, and Barbara (Joe) Cavalier of Warren; two grandchildren, Al Yurkovich of Boardman and Michelle (Jim) Lowe of Marysville; four great-grandchildren, Kaylynn, Jordyn, Madison, and Mackenzie Lowe; sister-in-law, Cecilia Tondy of Austintown; and many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, Elizabeth was preceded in death by three brothers, Jack, Thomas, and John Kerchofer.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday at 5:30 p.m. at the new Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market Street, Boardman.
Family and friends will be received Tuesday from 4 p.m. to 5:15 p.m. at the funeral home, prior to the memorial service.
