Elizabeth J. "Betty" Sharp, 78
POLAND - Elizabeth J. Sharp "Betty," 78, died April 1, 2012, at Beeghly Oaks.
Betty was born March 16, 1934, in Coitsville, a daughter of Charles and Emma Henderson Orth.
She was a 1951 Woodrow Wilson High School graduate. She worked as a office assistant for 25 years before retiring from the job site she loved with the Poland Schools. Betty was a member of the Faith Community Covenant Church, where she was very involved in the food pantry. She also volunteered at the Poland School Library.
She is survived by three daughters, Janet (Arlon) Jahnke of Appling, Ga., Rebecca (Ralph) DeBolt of Lakewood and Margaret (Doug) Stewart of Poland; a son, James (Mary Kay) Sharp of Youngstown; six grandchildren, Jonathan (Katie) Davis of Poland, Heather (Bryan) Briones of Boardman, Emily DeBolt of Clermont, Fla., Jason Stewart of Poland and Murphy Lynn and Brian Sharp, both of Youngstown; three great-grandchildren, Kaylee, Madison, and Liam; and a brother, Charles Orth Jr. of Pulaski, Pa.
Betty will be sadly missed by her family.
She is now reunited with her husband, Ed, whom she married Nov. 17, 1956, died in 1999.
She was also preceded in death by her parents.
Services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland Chapel. Interment will follow at Lakepark Cemetery
Friends will be received Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. and Thursday from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
