Youngstown - Elizabeth Luknis, 60, of Youngstown, died Wednesday afternoon at St. Elizabeth Medical Center after a sudden heart attack.
Elizabeth, affectionately known as Betty, was born September 5, 1950 in Youngstown, a daughter of the late Andrew and Frances Matesevac Dzuracky and was raised in Coitsville.
She was a 1968 graduate of Ursuline High School and worked as an operator for Ohio Bell and later AT&T for 24 years. Betty was presently working as a clerk for the Circle K in West Middlesex, PA.
Betty was full of life and enjoyed many hobbies. She enjoyed fishing, reading, crossword puzzels, dancing, bingo, and traveling. After graduating from high school, Betty and her friends took a trip to Hawaii, and later she traveled with her family to California, Maine, New Hampshire, New York, Las Vegas, and many other areas of the United States. Whereever Betty went, she was always known to have camera in hand and was always taking photos. She would then create photo albums that would tell a story and gift them to her family and friends.
She enjoyed sports, and was an avid fan of the New York Yankees and the Miami Dolphins and was a member of the Womens Bowling League at Camelot Lanes . Most of all, she loved spending time with her family and especially her new grandson of 6 months, Joseph.
Besides her husband Frank, whom she married October 16, 1976, she leaves one daughter, Jillian (Joseph) Nagle of Boardman; one son, Joe (Anna) Luknis of Youngstown; her grandson, Joseph Michael Nagle; and one brother, Andrew (Mary Ann) Dzuracky of Salem.
Funeral services will be Monday 9:00 AM at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers with Fr. John Trimbur officiating.
Friends will be received Sunday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
