Columbiana-Elizabeth R. Gilchrist died December 5, 2012 .
She was born December 14, 1915 in Butler Pennsylvania, daughter of John and Catherine
Schmidt Nowakoski.
Mrs. Gilchrist owned and operated a beauty shop in Youngstown. She was a home
maker, enjoyed reading, knitting and gardening.
Her husband, whom she married October 28,1938, passed away October 29,1994.
She is survived by two sons, Albert of Poland Township and John (Joyce) of Columbiana; three
granddaughters, Cheryl (Ronnie) Stanley of Columbiana, Rebecca (Paul) Marcum of
Columbiana, and Rachel (Scott) Bubar of North Ridgeville; six great-grandchildren, Mark Stanley,
Kathryn Stanley, Jared Bubar, Lydia Bubar, Nathan Bubar, and Aaron Marcum; and brother from
Butler, Pennsylvania.
The family would like to thank the staff at Greenbriar North for the concern and care they
gave Elizabeth during the time she resided there.
Funeral services will be Saturday at 10:30AM at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland.
Interment will follow at Poland Riverside Cemetery.
Friends and family will be received Friday from 6-8PM at the funeral home.
