Elizabeth Fitchet, 95, formerly of Youngstown and Columbiana, died Monday morning, September 25, 2017 at Masternick Memorial Health Care Center.
Elizabeth was born on July 7, 1922 in Canonsburg, PA, a daughter of Loren and Olive Moore Crawford. At an early age, her family relocated to Sebring and she was raised there.
In 1939, she married Robert Teel, and they made their home in Youngstown, until his sudden passing in 1946. On August 20, 1949, she married David Anness, and they were married for 27 years, before his passing on July 4, 1978. After many years of being a widow, Elizabeth found companionship again and married William J. Fitchet on February 20, 1999. He preceded her in death on May 1, 2004.
She was a former member of Zion Lutheran Church in Cornersburg and Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Columbiana. In her free time, Elizabeth enjoyed playing cards and belonged to several card clubs with friends throughout the years and also bowled in numerous leagues.
She is survived by her son, David (Jacalyn) Anness of New Middletown; one daughter, Judith (Bob) Rieke of Madison, IL; ten grandchildren, Jerilyn Timlin of Albuquerque, NM, Stacy (David) Lyles of Mentor on the Lake, Drusiana (Dan) Rattay of Austintown, David Anness of Struthers, Daniel Anness of Struthers, Ronald Frease, Jr. of San Diego, CA, Renee Heydle of Struthers, Mike Rieke of IL, Daniel (Connie) Rieke of KY, Renee Rieke of Mississippi; 20 great-grandchildren; and 6 great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Roberta Frease; brother, Edward "Bud" Crawford; and three grandchildren, Robin Tarr, Jeffrey Rieke, and Rhonda Heydle.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 11 a.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., where family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 9-10:45 a.m., prior to the service. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
