Youngstown- Elizabeth S. Christman, 90, of Youngstown, died Sunday evening, August 22, 2010 at Maplecrest Nursing Home.
Mrs. Christman was born October 15, 1919 in Yugoslavia, a daughter of Ludwig and Karoline Goettle Lohner.
Mrs. Christman first worked as a seamstress for Moyer's and later at the former Christman Bakery in Youngstown. She was a former member of Martin Luther Lutheran Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was an avid bingo player.
Her husband, Frederick Christman, Sr., whom she married June 15, 1939, died March 22, 1994. She leaves two daughters, Ilse (Bill Lisko) Wheeler of Youngstown and Aline (Robert Dudek) Christman of Poland; three sons, Carl (Susann) Christman of Poland, Helmut (Michelle) Christman of Sharon, and Fred Christman of Youngstown; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Karl Lohner.
Services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers, where family and friends will be received Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the service. Interment will take place at Lake Park Cemetery.
The family requests that memorial tributes take the form of contributions be made in Mrs. Christman's name to Hospice of the Valley, 5190 Market St., Boardman, Ohio 44512.
