Poland- Eligio âa�A"Louieâa�A� Zuccaro, 96, of Poland, died Sunday afternoon at Hospice of the Valley Hospice House. Mr. Zuccaro was born March 6, 1912, in Supino, Italy, a son of Ottavio and Maria Palazzo Zuccaro. He came to the United States and to Aliquippa, Pa., at the age of 17, in 1929. In 1946 he made his home in Poland. He was a structural ironworker for Local 207 for thirty years, retiring in 1976. Mr. Zuccaro was a member of the Struthers VFW Post #3538 and bowled in two leagues at the Holiday Bowl in Struthers until this year. He was a member of Holy Family Church in Poland. His wife, the former Pauline Babich, whom he married December 13, 1936, died May 6, 2000. He leaves four daughters, Mary (John Jr.) Garthwaite of Poland, Lois (Steve) Sweetko of Schaumburg, IL, Elizabeth (Scott) Hockenberry of Boardman, and Pauline Zuccaro at home; three sons, Vincent (Connie) Zuccaro of Boardman, Gerald Zuccaro of Youngstown, and Eugene (Linda) Zuccaro of Poland; seventeen grandchildren, twenty-six great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. Besides his parents and wife, Mr. Zuccaro was preceded in death by one son, Louis Zuccaro; one great-grandson, Randy Davis; two brothers, Rocco and Angelo Zuccaro; and three sisters, Anna, Josephine, and Elizabeth. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11:30 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland, and 12:00 noon at Holy Family Church. Friends may call Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home.
