Edythe L. âa�A"Edieâa�A� Frost âa�" 85 NORTH LIMA âa�" Edythe L. âa�A"Edieâa�A� Frost, 85 of Assumption Village, died Wednesday afternoon. Edie was born in Youngstown, on September 29, 1921, a daughter of George and Mayme McConahy Hess. She was a lifelong area resident. Edie resided in California from 1978 to 1986. A 1940 graduate of Springfield High School, she attended the Trinity Bible College in St. Petersburg Florida, and the Bible Institute of Los Angeles. She worked as a Legal Secretary for the Bechtel Corporation, and the Youngstown Sheet & Tube, and worked as a switchboard operator for the Standard Oil Company. She retired in 1990. Following her retirement, Edie volunteered for Hospice of the Valley. Edie was a member of the Bethel Friends Church in Poland, a member of the Christian Womenâa�a��s Club of Youngstown, where she was instrumental in starting the after 5 Christian Womenâa�a��s Club, She started several church single groups and dinner groups in this area, as well as in California. Edie loved spending time with her family and friends, she especially liked family get-togethers and spending time with her church family. She also was a huge Cleveland Indians, and a San Francisco 49erâa�a��s fan. Edie played basketball in high school, she was on the Youngstown Sheet & Tube softball team, and bowled on the Poland United Methodist Church league, as well as other bowling leagues She is survived by two sons, Bob (Becky) Frost, of Canton; Ron (Bev) Frost of Youngstown, three grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, a dear friend Sharon Keene, of California, and numerous nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, John Hess, George Hess, Bill Hess, Rev. Robert Hess, Richard Hess, and four sisters, Mary Louise Thew, Ethel Russell, Emily Floch, and Anna Mae Way. Family and friends may call Saturday from 9:45 âa�" 10:45 a.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, Poland, where funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m., with Pastor Bobby Murphy officiating.
