Mr. Enterline was born June 16, 1920 in Indianapolis, Indiana, a son of Samuel W. and Minnie M. Enterline. He graduated from South High School in 1938, where he played basketball and football; he went on to graduate from Youngstown College (YSU), playing varsity basketball all four years under the late Dom Rosselli. While in the Navy Ed played in a game with and for John Wooden, who also was the coach.
Ed served as an Officer in the U.S. Navy in World War II as a PT Boat Captain in the South Pacific one tour, and a second tour on a Destroyer with Adm. Halsey's 3rd Fleet. Ed was a local member of the WWII Heritage Group. Ed worked for and retired from Campus Equipment Co.

He was a mentor and motivator of young people.
As a member of Pleasant Grove United Presbyterian Church, Ed taught Sunday school there for 20 years. Ed was also an avid fisherman and hunter and was one of the earliest members of the Canfield Sportsmen's Conservation Club. From 1949 to 1950 Ed was the director of Camp Fitch, and was the Boys Secretary of the YMCA.
Ed enjoyed watching local sporting events in Boardman, Canfield, and YSU, and was a Cleveland Indians and Browns fan. Ed loved Polka and dance band music, had a passion for food, had a great sense of humor, and loved to travel, circumventing the world two times.
