Poland - Edward Paul Yavorsky Jr., 59, of Poland, died unexpectedly early Wednesday morning, January 18, 2017 at St. Elizabeth Boardman Health Center.

Ed was born March 20, 1957 in Youngstown, a son of Edward and Barbara Eyster Yavorsky.

He was raised in Youngstown and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1975. He immediately started working at United Foundries in Youngstown and later Canton, as a electric furnace operator. He then worked for Parker Hannifin until its closing.

Ed's hobbies included friends, family, cars, football. He dragged raced a '49 Ford at Quaker City, and attended Mercer and Sharon Speedways. He loved car shows and anything that had to do with motors. A sports enthusiast, Ed was a fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Ohio State Buckeyes. He was everyone's handyman and was known as Mr. Fix-It. Ed also loved his four legged buddy, Roxie.

He leaves his wife of 28 years, the former Deborah Jones, whom he married December 3, 1988; his children, Emily Yavorsky of Butler and twins, Rachel and Evan McNicholas at home; six sisters, Debra Bennett of Struthers, Carol (Tom) Nuttall and Cathy (Mark) Stanich both of Poland, Kim Luplow of Greenville, PA, Patti (Bob) Olesky of Youngstown and Carol Winwood of Hubbard; three brothers, John Winwood of Cleveland, Joe (Karen) Winwood of Girard and Chuck Winwood of Niles; and step-mother, Judy Yavorsky of Port Orange, FL; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Edward Yavorsky; mother, Barbara (Joseph) Winwood; and brother, Michael Yavorsky.

Funeral services will be held Monday, 11:00 AM at the Cunningham-Becker funeral home. Interment will follow at the Calvary Cemetery, Youngstown.

Friends will be received Sunday from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the funeral home.
