Poland - Edward B. Valentich, 76, died August 3, 2013 at his residence .
Mr. Valentich was born May 19, 1937 in York Run, PA, son of Michael and Susan Bodish Valentich.
He was 1955 graduate of Uniontown Senior High in Pennsylvania. Ed went on to receive his B.A. from Geneva College in Speech Psychology. He then continued his studied at Kent State University, where he got a Master's in Education.
Ed taught for 50 years at various schools including; Matthews, Youngstown City School, Chaney, Ravenna, and Youngstown Special Education K-12. He was nominated for Teacher of the Year in 1996.
After retirement, he tutored in the Youngstown City Schools also worked at Walmart.
Ed was a member of St. Mark's Lutheran Church and the Lake Club.
He will be sadly missed by his family who he loved dearly including his sister, Eleanor Lease of Poland; brother, Joe (Alice) Valentich of Boardman; his fiance, Kathy Nail of Niles; and several nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by both his parents, Susan and Michael Valentich; two brothers, Elmer and Fred; and two sisters, Isabella Sova and Edith Franko
Services will be held at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Sunday August18, 2013 at 2:00 PM.
Friends and family will be received 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM at the church.
