Boardman - Edward H. Menster, 91, died April 8, 2012 at the Hospice House.
Mr. Menster was born March 15, 1921 in Youngstown, a son of Michael and Clara McClellan Menster.
He was a 1939 South High School graduate and went on to work at Bessemer Cement Company as Traffic Manager for most of his life, before retiring in 1983.
Edward was a member of Trinity Fellowship Church and was a lifelong member of the YMCA. He was a veteran of the United States Navy in WWII. He enjoyed gardening, fishing, and spending time with his family.
His wife, Virginia M. Menster, who was the love of his life for 56 years, whom he married July 13, 1944, died iin December of 2000.
Edward is survived by two daughters, Mary (Dave) Hassey of Boardman and Betty (Harry) Nehus of Gallipolis, OH; two sons, Edward (Marilyn) Menster of Wimauma, FL and Bill Menster of Punta Gorda, FL; nine grandchildren, Kelly Reith, Mike Menster, Colleen Gossling, Eddie Nehus, Erin Vergara, Matthew Menster, Nicholas Menster, Tracy Shively, and David Hassey; and three great-grandchildren, Taylor Shively, Tyler and Andrew Menster. He also leaves a loving sister-in-law, Mary (Jim) Shoemaker of Ravenna.
Besides his parents and wife, Edward was preceded in death by a brother, Gilbert Menster; a daughter- in- law, Claire Menster; and a grandson, Billy Menster.
Services will be held at Trinity Fellowship Church on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Fred Mayhew officiating. Interment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.
Friends will be received Thursday from 10:00 AM to 10:45 AM at the Trinity Fellowship Church.
