Boardman - Edward E. McConnell, 82 of Boardman, died November 19, 2016 at Shepherd of the Valley.
Mr. McConnell was born September 16, 1934 in New Castle, PA, son of the late Earl and Anna Wagner McConnell.
He was a 1952 graduate of Boardman High School. He worked as a fitter, welder, and crane operator for EW Bliss in Salem for 25 years. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in the Korean Conflict on the USS Wright. He was a member of the Salem AMVETS and enjoyed woodworking, Nascar, and spending time with his grandchildren.
He married his high school sweetheart Nancy (Harris) Oct. 1, 1955, who preceded him in death in 2002.
He is survived by two sons, David (Janet) McConnell of Boardman and Bruce (Terry) McConnell of Boardman; one daughter, Beth (Gene) Adams of Boardman; seven grandchildren, Matthew (Angela), Jeremy, Melissa, Andrea, Sarah, Megan, Rebecca; and four great-grandchildren, Joslyn, Rocco, Emma, and Eliza.
Services will be held Friday at 7:00PM at Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman with Pastor Bob Quaintance officiating.
Friends and family will be received Friday from 4-6:45PM at the funeral home.
