Lowellville - After a courageous battle with colon cancer, Edward C. Joseph, 76, of Lowellville, passed away Sunday evening, September 27, 2015 in the comfort of his home with his loving family by his side.
Ed was born September 14, 1939 in Youngstown, OH, the son of the late John and Helen Wormley Joseph.
Raised in Youngstown, Ed was a graduate of The Rayen School, Class of 1958. He was a machinist and tool and die maker by trade. He worked at DeVelco Tool and Die in Warren during the late 60's. After leaving DeVelco, Ed worked at Metal Fab Inc., in Youngstown until 1987. In December 1987, Ed established Aluminum Fence & Manufacturing in Struthers and retired in 2012.
Ed was a member and past president of the United Steel Workers Union #7137. He was a member of the American Fence Association and a member of ASTM Committee on Aluminum Fence and Accessories. Ed was a member of the former Struthers Business Association. He enjoyed going to auctions and flea markets, always looking for a bargain. Ed loved machinery and was well known for being able to make or fix anything. He was usually spotted in a yellow convertible at Arby's with friends.
Ed will be greatly missed by his loving wife, the former Maureen O'Hara whom he married November 25, 1988; his son, Timothey (Nancy) Joseph of Parma Heights, OH; daughter, Michelle (Brendan) Sheehan of Rocky River, OH; and son, Jeffrey (Virginia) Joseph of Burton, OH; two granddaughters, Erin and Makayla Sheehan and a grandson that he shared a special bond with, Tim Sheehan; as well as brothers and his sister, Robert (Wanda) Joseph of Berlin, MD, John (Missy) Joseph of Beavercreek, OH, Roy Joseph of Phoenix, AZ, and Kathy (Bill) Meacham of Mesa, AZ; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
Family and friends will be received Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. and Thursday from 10-10:45 a.m. at the funeral home.
