Edward Aeppli

Hubbard - Edward N, Aeppli, 66 of Hubbard, died Saturday morning August 17, 2019 at his home. He was born March 5, 1953 in Youngstown a son of Edward and Janett (McKay) Aeppli and had been a lifelong area resident.

He was a 1971 graduate of Struthers High School and was a retired technician from OPTA Minerals. He was a member of Faith Community Covenant Church in Youngstown and had served as president of the church council. Ed was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, canoeing trips to Minnesota Boundary Waters Canoe Area, and also spending time with his family at their camp. He was a member of the Mahoning Sportsman Association and the National Rifle Association. He was an Eagle Scout from Troop 54 and had served as the scoutmaster.

Besides his wife, the former JoAnn Payne, who he married November 1, 1975, he leaves his son Ed A. (Michell) Aeppli of Danville, Ohio; his daughter, Melinda (Jeff) Fitzhenry of Southington, Ohio; a sister, Nancy Smolko of Canfield, a brother Ron Aeppli of Struthers, and Rick Aeppli of St. Augustine, Fla. He leaves three grandchildren, Ed H., Beth, and Aiden.

Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-mother, Marian Coppenhaver Aeppli and brother, Richard Coppenhaver.

Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM Friday at Faith Community Covenant Church in Youngstown. Family and friends may call two hours prior to the service from 5-7:00 PM at the church.

In lieu of flowers, monetary donations will be forwarded to the Ed Aeppli Bell Isle Domain Memorial Fund c/o The Struthers Federal Credit Union, 808 Poland Avenue, Struthers, Ohio 44471.
