Boardman - Edith Brucoli Wadland, 87, of Boardman, died on October 3 at Hospice of the Valley, Hospice House.
Edith was born March 23, 1925 in Greenville, PA, a daughter of the late Antonio and Donata Scarpucci Campana.
Raised on the East Side, Edith was a 1943 graduate of East High School. Her first husband, Anthony S. Brucoli, Sr., whom she married in 1946 died in 1965. Edith leaves three children, one daughter, Annette and husband Reverend Alan Hutchison of Poland; two sons Anthony (Deborah) Brucoli Jr. of Boardman and Patrick Brucoli of Louisville, KY. Following the death of her first husband, Edith pursued a life long dream to become a nurse. She attended Youngstown State University where she graduated with an Associates Degree in Nursing in 1974. Edith was employed as a registered nurse in the cardiac unit of the former Southside Hospital.
In 1983 Edith married Reverend Wallace Wadland, whom she met on a tour of the Holy Land. They enjoyed travel and ministry together before his death in 1988.
A loving mother and grandmother, Edith took her role as a homemaker to heart. She was an adventurous cook, and loved arranging flowers. She especially loved spending her time surrounded by family, although her compassionate caregiving extended well beyond her home. Edith was an active member of the Poland Presbyterian Church.
In addition to her children, Edith leaves behind one brother, Joe and his wife Nancy Campana of Youngstown; one sister, Dina Gould of Howland; and two grandchildren, Dr. Sarah and husband Eamon Jordan of Honolulu, HI, and Paul Hutchison of Columbus.
Edith was preceded in death by two sisters, Anna Yanucci and Ruth Gould, and one brother, Mike Campana.
Friends will be received Saturday from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home Poland, Ohio.
A private family service will be held on Sunday.
