Edith Pauline (McDonald) Stroup

Poland - Edith P. Stroup, 91, of Poland, died Friday morning, January 12, 2018 at her residence with her family at her side.

Edith was born February 13, 1926 in Youngstown, a daughter of Walter and Bess Allen McDonald.

Raised in Struthers, Edith was 16 when she graduated from Struthers High School, Class of 1942. She worked at the Youngstown Sheet & Tube as an estimator before her marriage to her high school sweetheart, Robert Stroup on August 19, 1947. Together they made their home Struthers until moving to Poland in 1959.

Edith was active in the Eastern Star and Pythian Sisters. She was a life-long member of the Struthers Presbyterian Church now known as Parkside Church. Edith's favorite past times included card clubs, reading, music and dancing. She and Robert enjoyed their winters in Fort Myers, FL.

Edith leaves her daughter, Kimberly (David) Conzett of Hubbard; daughter-in-law, Penni Stroup of Leesburg, OH; sister, Donna (Harold) Aebischer of Poland; four grandchildren, Alicia (Todd) Graves, Kathryn (Brent) Barrett, Diana Conzett, and Christian (Ciara) Conzett; and seven great-grandchildren, Jordan, Alec and Logan Graves, Giavania and Lennox Conzett, and Leeland and Adelynn Barrett.

In addition to her parents, Edith was preceded in death by her husband Robert who died February 17, 2003; one son, Robert Thomas Stroup; one brother, Walter McDonald; and a sister Betty MacKondy.

Funeral services will be held Monday, 6:00 pm at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers with Pastor James Berkebile officiating. Edith's family will host a dinner immediately following the service at the Becker Family Center. Interment will be at Lake Park Cemetery on Tuesday.

Friends will be received Monday from 4:00 pm until 5:45 pm at the funeral home.
