Edith (Delsander) Marchetti

Marietta- Edith Marchetti, 95, formerly of Struthers/Poland, passed away peacefully in Marietta, GA on Sunday, January 17, 2016. She was born on May 5, 1920 in Struthers to the late Vincenzo Delsander and Gemma Tirabassi Delsander.
Edith is survived by her son, Peter Marchetti and daughter-in-law, Joann Pruse Marchetti of Marietta, GA with whom she lived since 2008; grandson, Joseph Marchetti and his wife Sara of Marietta, GA; granddaughter, Catherine Atwood and her husband, Jim of Marietta, GA; five great grandchildren; her brothers, John Delsander of Youngstown and Sam Delsander of Struthers; sisters, Mary Abate of Centerville and Antoinette Leardi of Ocala, FL; and many other loving nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph Marchetti, whom she married on January 17, 1940 and who passed away in 1995; her brother, Peter Delsander and her sister, Angeline DiRenzo.
Edith was employed as a grocery store cashier in Struthers for many years. Following their retirement, Edith and her husband enjoyed working as vendors at the local flea markets. In her last years, she delighted in the companionship of her dog, a standard poodle named Zeus.
A private entombment will take place at Lake Park Cemetery.
Memorial services will be held at a later date at Davidson-Becker Funeral Home in Struthers.
