Earl F. Moore Boise, Idaho- Earl F. Moore, Jr., formerly of Struthers and a long time resident of Boise, Idaho died Friday, September 19th at his residence in Boise. Mr. Moore was born December 3, 1920 in Struthers, a son of Earl F. Sr., and Marie Taylor Moore. He was raised in Struthers and moved to Boise in 1948. He was a 1938 graduate of Struthers High School and received his accounting degree from Ohio State University in 1946. He was employed as a CPA by a national CPA firm before purchasing Brown Rental All in 1955. He sold the business in 1976 at which time he was semi-retired but still operated his wholesale glove business, Moore Distributing. In 1940, while attending Ohio State University and at the onset of World War II, Mr. Moore enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corp. He served as an Aviation Navigator obtaining the rank of Captain. He was trained to use radar in navigation and was referred to as a Mickey Operator. He became the lead group operator of the 456th bomb group stationed in Italy, flying in the lead plane. He successfully completed 35 bombing missions earning the Distinguished Flying Cross Air Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters and the European-African-Middle Eastern Service Medal. Mr. Moore was a charter member of the Boise Vista Lions Club and recently was awarded the International Lifetime Membership. He was a member of the Charter Crane Creek Country Club and the Gowen Field Officers Club. He was an avid golfer and bridge player. He loved the West and its many outdoor opportunities including fishing, bird hunting and traveling with his family. His wife the former Marjorie Jean Dodson whom he married July 24, 1945 died June of 1994. He leaves two daughters, Roni Weber of Boise and Carol (Randy) Durham of Medford, Oregon; two sisters, Phyliss Wilson of Cincinnati and Rosemary Emery of Tidioute, Pennsylvania; two brothers, Neal and Dana Moore both of Struthers; one sister-in-law Beverly Schweizer of Jackpot, Nevada; five grandchildren, Erica Weber, Melissa (Michael) Wolfe, Tiffany Vaughn, Timothy Durham and Jessica Durham; one great-grandson, Jacob Wolfe and Mr. Mooreâa�a��s companion of three years, Alma Adams. Besides his wife, he preceded in death by one sister, Francina Codrea and one brother Arthur âa�A"Jakeâa�A� Moore. Funeral Services were held Wednesday September 24th at the Summers Funeral Home in Meridian, Idaho.
