Boardman - Dr. Joseph J. Mullarkey, Jr., 39, of Boardman died Friday, February 22, 2008 at his residence. Joe was born Wednesday, October 23, 1968 in Youngstown, Ohio, a son of Joseph J. and Marta Moczadlo Mullarkey, Sr. A 1987 graduate of Struthers High School, Joe went on to receive his Doctor of Veterinary Medicine Degree from the University of Florida. He was employed as a veterinarian at Ebert Animal Hospital for almost 10 years and recently was working for Animal Charity. He was a Ford Mustang and classic car enthusiast. Joe was a member of the Mahoning Valley Mustangs, the Mustang Club of America, and the American Veterinary Medical Association. Joe shared his passion and love of cars with his son Joey. He loved buying him matchbox cars and playing them with him. Joe also loved reading books to Joey. He loved his son and wife very much and will be sadly missed by them. He was an avid Florida Gators and Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Joe loved eagles and had a collection of figurines and memorabilia. He was very proud of his Irish heritage and also collected Irish memorabilia. Joe attended the Victory Christian Center. Joe leaves his wife, the former Crystal Dotson, whom he married November 9, 2002; his son, Joseph J. Mullarkey, III; his mother, Marta Mullarkey-Jeffrey of Texas; a sister, Vickie (Sergio) Carano of Struthers; and a brother, Christopher Mullarkey of Texas. He was preceded in death by his father. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Victory Christian Center, 3899 McCartney Rd (Rt 422), Coitsville, OH 44436, with Rev. Ray Linebaugh officiating.
