James Franklin Ervin II Poland- Funeral services will be held Friday, 1:00 PM at the Poland Presbyterian Church for James Franklin Ervin II, Capt. USN Ret., who died Tuesday evening at age 72. He was a retired physician and served 24 years on active duty in the United States Navy. In 1982 he moved from Annapolis, Md., to Poland, Ohio in which area he practiced medicine until retirement in 1996. He is the son of the late Dr. Carl Edgar and Marjorie Read Ervin of Camp Hill, PA and is survived by a sister, Nancy Read Ervin of Florida. Dr. Ervin is survived by his two sons, Thomas of Virginia and James of Poland, in addition to his four grandchildren and two daughter-in-laws. His wife Judith Grace preceded him in death. Dr. Ervin was a charter member of the American College of Emergency Physicians, Mahoning County and Ohio Medical Societies, was certified by the American Board of Family Practice, was Emeritus member of Family Practice Department at Western Reserve Care System, A Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Disabled American Veterans, Fleet Reserve Association, Retired Officers Association, and Poland Presbyterian Church. In earlier years he volunteered at Meals on Wheels and Voluntary Drivers for Seniors and has worked with other people with various needs.
