Dorothy Protopapa, 91 Youngstown- Dorothy Protopapa, 91, died early Monday morning at Briarfield at Ashley Circle. Mrs. Protopapa was born January 23, 1914 in Youngstown, a daughter of Angelo and Josephine Palmer. She lived in the area all of her life. For over 28 years Mrs. Protopapa was a seamstress for Weatherbee Coats, retiring in 1976. She was a member of St. Christine Church in Youngstown. Her husband, John Protopapa, whom she married June 6, 1936, died December 27, 1957. She is survived by a son, John (Phyllis) Protopapa of Boardman; three sisters, Clara Harvey of Youngstown, Pauline (James) Bucci of Youngstown, and Margaret (Ernest) Vingi of Florida; a daughter-in-law, Phyllis Protopapa of Youngstown; thirteen grandchildren including granddaughter, Patty Protopapa who took care of her, and eight great-grandchildren. Besides her parents and her husband, one son, Anthony Robert Protopapa; one sister, Iva Zarlingo; and three brothers, Raymond, Frank, and Tony Palmer preceded her in death. Funeral services will be Friday, 9:15 A.M. at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home and 10:00 A.M. at St. Christine Church, Austintown. Friends may call Thursday evening from 5-8 PM at the funeral home.
