Lowellville - Dorothy Piper, 88, of Lowellville, formerly of Struthers, died early Sunday morning at Hampton Woods.
Dorothy was born October 8, 1922 in Struthers, a daughter of Jay and Lily Ward Hamilton.
A 1940 graduate of Struthers High School, Dorothy spent her time taking care of her husband, children and making a good home for them.
She was a former member of the Struthers United Methodist Church.
Her husband, Raymond Piper, whom she married June 5, 1943, died July 5, 1970. She leaves two daughters, Constance (Daniel) Penwell of Lowellville and Janice Sontag of Boardman; two sons, David Piper of Boardman. and Douglas (Roseanne) Piper of Hixson, TN; one sister, Janet Baker of Poland; one daughter-in-law, Caryn Piper of Lowellville; one sister-in-law, Rosalyn Hamilton of Struthers; twenty grandchildren; and thirty-one great-grandchildren.
Besides her parents and husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Cheryl Piper; one son, Raymond Piper; and two brothers, Jay and Ronald Hamilton.
Services will be held at Friday, 10:00 am at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, Struthers. Interment will follow at the Lake Park Cemetery.
Friends will be received Thursday from 5-8 pm at the funeral home.
