Struthers - Dorothy M. (McAninch) Leavitt, 84, of Struthers, died March 2, 2010 at the Hospice House.

Mrs. Leavitt was born October 14, 1925 in Grove City, PA, a daughter of Albert and Mabel Orr King.

Mrs. Leavitt worked in the Accounting Department for Sears and Roebuck for over 30 years, retiring in 1988.  She loved camping and the Waggin Wheel Travel Trailer Club.  She and her husband traveled all across the United States, and parts of Canada.  She enjoyed spending the winters in Melbourne, FL.  She loved reading, cooking, puzzles, reverse painting and cross stitching.


She is survived by her husband, Glen Leavitt, whom she married April 21, 1986; three daughters, Nancy J. Schriber of Mankato, MN, Rebecca (William) Kirkman of Muncie, IN, and Jeanne (Dan Schimmelpfennig) LaRoche of Indianapolis, IN; two step-daughters, Cheryl Yoho of NC and Judi Pavelko of Struthers, OH; one sister, Betty Bush of Niles; two brothers, Kenneth King of Conneaut Lake, PA and  William (Cheryl) Cox of Great Falls, MT; 14 grandchildren;  and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, James McAninch, a son, Stephen McAninch, a son-in-law, Dick Schriber, 2 brothers-in-law, Wendell Holmes and Warren Bush, and a sister-in-law, Martha King.

Family and friends will be received Friday from 2:00 - 3:45 pm at the Davidson-Becker Funeral Home, in Struthers, Ohio where funeral services will be held at 4:00 pm.

Interment will be Monday, March 8th at 2:00 pm at the Elm Ridge Cemetery, 4600 West Kilgore Avenue, Muncie, IN 47304.
