Dorothy M. Harris

Poland - Dorothy M. Harris, 81, passed away on Thursday, February 2, 2017 at Hampton Woods Residential Care. She has finished her journey and is now at home with the Lord.
Dorothy was born July 6, 1935 in McKeesport, PA, to the late, George and Dorothy Lingertot Pearson. She graduated from McKeesport High School and was employed as a Legal Secretary for Reed and Smith Law Firm in Pittsburgh, where she retired in 1990. She was a member of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church where she was involved with several organizations. Dorothy was a giver and was always willing to give to charities and those less fortunate.
She leaves her son, Richard (Patricia) Harris of Triadelphia, WV; daughter, Elayne (William) Garrett of Olathe, KS; grandchildren, Megan, Katherine and Sarah; two great grandchildren; her sister, Isabel and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. Harris on July 13, 2004; her brother, George and her sister, Ethel.
A memorial service will be held on Monday at 3pm at the Cunningham-Becker Funeral Home, 270 N. Main St, in Poland, with Pastor Darrin Wright officiating.
Visitation will be prior to the service from 2-2:45pm at the funeral home.
The family asks that any memorial donations be made, in her name, to Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 2985 Center Rd. Poland, OH 44514.
